ANNANDALE DISTILLERY PARTNERS WITH EDINBURGH’S HISTORIC AULD HUNDRED TO LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE ‘AULD DRAM’ SINGLE CASK MALT
Annandale Distillery, the South of Scotland’s premier producer of single cask, single malt Scotch whisky, is proud to announce a prestigious new partnership with one of Edinburgh’s most iconic whisky landmarks, The Auld Hundred.
The collaboration has resulted in the birth of ‘Auld Dram’, a limited-edition single malt matured for six years in a premium ex-bourbon cask. Bottled at 50% ABV and non-chill filtered to preserve its natural golden hue, this exclusive release bridges the gap between the craftsmanship of the Dumfries and Galloway Lowlands and the vibrant heart of the capital’s New Town.
Located on Rose Street, The Auld Hundred—a former mission hall dating back to the 1800s—is renowned for housing one of the largest whisky collections in Edinburgh. The addition of ‘Auld Dram’ represents a year-long journey of cask selection and sensory development alongside the experts at Annandale.
John Coombes, UK Market Manager for Annandale Distillery, commented:
“From our very first meeting with the team at The Auld Hundred, it was clear that we shared a deep, mutual passion for the integrity of Scottish whisky. At Annandale, we pride ourselves on the unique character of our single cask spirit, and it has been a privilege to collaborate with a venue that respects the heritage of the dram as much as we do.
“To see our spirit become the signature pour for such a historic Rose Street institution is a proud moment for the distillery. We have worked closely with Chris Sloan and the Signature Group to ensure this bottling captures the elegance of the Lowlands while offering the complexity that Edinburgh’s discerning whisky lovers expect. I’m incredibly proud of this liquid; it is a testament to what happens when shared visions align, and I look forward to this being the first of many successful projects together.”
The ‘Auld Dram’ profile offers a sophisticated palate of wood spice, vanilla, and stone fruits, finishing with a creamy mouthfeel and notes of sweet malt.
Chris Sloan, Whisky Ambassador for Signature Group, added:
“After a year of hard work and determination, we’re so excited to be finally raising a glass to our very own dram, thanks to the skill and craftsmanship of our friends at Annandale Distillery. Our Auld Hundred single malt now takes pride of place amongst one of the largest whisky collections in Edinburgh.”
With only 290 bottles produced, this limited-edition release is available exclusively at The Auld Hundred, 100 Rose Street, Edinburgh, by the dram or by the bottle while stocks last.
