LEARN HOW WE PRODUCE FINE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

Take in the fascinating past with a glimpse into our future and learn about our unique distillation process. Taste Man O’Words and Man O’Sword – our Single Cask Single Malt Scotch whiskies – together with our exceptional New Make Spirit; Rascally Liquor® and blended Scotch whiskies.

Annandale Distillery ceased production in 1918, whilst in the ownership of the famous Johnnie Walker & Sons. Later rescued by Prof. David Thomson & Teresa Church in 2007, this once derelict distillery sprang back into life on November 3rd, 2014. Our tours give you access to all areas of this historic site including, the mill, kiln, mash and stillhouse, filling room, archaeology, and bonded warehouse. Hosted by our passionate and knowledgeable guides who will explain our history and unique processes.

Specialist Tours

Please fill in the form below or email Iain on I.Dupont@annandaledistillery.com if you would like to book one of our specialist tours. Including the Technical, Restoration, Limited mobility/disability VR tour* and our Owners tour. These tours require extra members of staff and up to 24hours notice on certain occasions.

You must visit this place, even if you don't like whiskey! I cannot praise this place enough. I wanted to take my dad who is in a wheelchair, I emailed Iain who explained how he would support him accessing the tour through either a VR system or a laptop so he wouldn't miss out. The tour was very informative with a fair bit of whiskey to try. We also booked in for afternoon tea which was out of this world. The lunch menu also looked very good. Well worth a visit even if its for coffee in the beautifully renovated cafe. £12mil well spent!

Great tour & tasting We enjoyed a tour today having stayed nearby in Gretna, my husband is a whisky drinker and I’m unable to drink as heavily pregnant but we both enjoyed the tour - the history of the distillery was very interesting and the tour guide (Grant) was very friendly & knowledgeable. Good selection of whisky to buy in the shop afterwards.

Truly Marvellous The Maltings cafe at the Annandale distillery provides a great stop for travellers who are weary of typical cafes. It is warm, friendly, with superb staff, lovely food (The Best Breakfast ) and truly accommodating and welcoming of visitors of with Dogs - there's even a special dog treat menu. It's also very good value. I was so impressed I returned on my return journey the next day and will continue coming back in the future. Thank You

Great experience! We had a great time with the tour, learning about the craft of distilling whisky. It was a small unassuming place, but full of friendly people. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The attached restaurant provided delicious food.

Warm Scottish welcome Big whisky drinker. Never heard of Annandale whisky or been to any distillery before and wasn’t entirely convinced I’d like it.Brilliant experience and amazing guide - Adele was very knowledgeable and welcoming, and dealt with a somewhat rowdy group. The history was explained in great detail, the differences between whisky types and casks, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and even further guidance on where to eat after the tour! Ended up buying a bottle and some whisky stones as the cask strength whiskies were phenomenal. The tour was that good I’m hoping to bring my dad up in a few weeks time! Thank you Adele & AnnandaleAsa Butterfield (not)
